You still with me??? Well thanks for sticking around. But what is it we are sticking around for? I still don’t really know. So I am a so called food blogger. OK, that gets me no wherein defining who or what I am and why I do this, or come back to this after a few week break like I just had.
So I know what I am not… I am not a critic, although I do critique restaurants. Critics have to remain out of the spotlight, hidden in the shadows. That is not who I am, never could be.
Food Anthropologist or Historian? Maybe, although I do not have, nor do I ever see myself getting a degree in Anthropology or History.
I guess I am just a foodie, a foodie with a passion for food… The taste, the culture, the history, the preparation. You name it I love food.
Even as I take steps to lose weight I still love food. But a skinny, Tucson Food Guy? Well not sure if skinny and Michael will ever go together like sticky rice and raw fish, but why not… Alton Brown, who I look up to as the Foodie of all Foodies, is in good shape. So sure I can get into shape and still be the Tucson Food Guy…
In the meantime I am still working on defining myself. I am reading everything I can on food, be it blogs, cook books, or peer scholarly journals on food culture, I am absorbing all I can.
I am still working on starting the audio podcast.
I am doing all of this for you, my readers… For the Tucson Food Guy is who I am, who I have marketed myself to be, and my mission is to share my love for food and the story that food has to tell.
